York Expositions Launches Ecobuild Canada - New Event Joins Forces With American and Japanese Events
Joining forces with Ecobuild Japan, Ecobuild Federal and Ecobuild America, Ecobuild Canada will provide a global lense to sustainable building products, systems, services and technologies. Additional events that will lend support to this coalition will soon be announced for Mexico and the United Kingdom.
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) February 25, 2005 -- Ecobuild Canada 2005 will elevate
the green building, sustainable design and environmental planning agenda onto
the global stage when it takes place on November 31 – December 2, 2005 at the
Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building.
Joining forces with
Ecobuild Japan, Ecobuild Federal and Ecobuild America, Ecobuild Canada will
provide a global lense to sustainable building products, systems, services and
technologies. Additional events that will lend support to this coalition will
soon be announced for Mexico and the United Kingdom.
Ecobuild Canada will
take place with Construct Canada, PM Expo, DesignTrends, HomeBuilder and
Renovator Expo and Concrete Canada (the Show). Over the past 17 years, the Show
has evolved to become Canada’s largest annual conference and exposition that
focuses on the design, construction, retrofit and maintenance of all types of
new and existing commercial and residential buildings.
In 2004, the Show
featured 1,032 exhibits and was attended by 21,138 architects, engineers,
specifiers, contractors, builders, renovators, facility managers, interior
designers, property managers and building owners. The Show is also supported by
the leading professional and industry associations serving these sectors, many
of whom exhibit and hold seminars, conferences, annual meetings, and other
functions at the event.
Ecobuild Canada isn’t the Show’s first foray into the green building and
sustainability arena. Four years ago, the event’s traditional focus on energy
efficient building systems, technologies and funding programs evolved into a
Green Building Conference that included the Canada Green Building Council among
its supporters. Manufacturers’contributions to innovation in green building
materials are recognized through the Merit Green Building Products program.
According to York Communication’s principals and organizers of the Show,
Jacqui Elliott and George Przybylowski, the multi faceted format of Ecobuild
will complement their current event and will contribute to sustainability issues
which will be central to the Show’s next addition - Infrastructure 2006. They
are committed to ensuring that “Ecobuild Canada will embrace all aspects of
green design leading to high performance buildings, and will deliver a major
focus on technology that result in more efficient methods of designing
sustainability into any project.”
Ecobuild Japan, one of the world’s
foremost green technology conference and exhibition boasts a successful
five-year record in Asia that draws more that 16,000 attendees each year. A
principal in Ecobuild Japan, architect Yoshiteru Kaneko, believes that events
like Ecobuild help to grow awareness of the eco-business that will ensure a
better environment for everyone.
Ecobuild
America will premiere June 20- 23, 2005 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and
Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida, while a second US event called Ecobuild
Federal, is positioned for governmental agencies involved in construction and
will happen in Washington, DC, December 13-16, 2005.
Attendees to the
Show will include architects, design professionals, engineers, builders,
contractors, building owners and managers, and specifiers in the commercial,
residential, institutional, industrial, government and utility markets.
George Borkovich, co-founder of Ecobuild America, is also the creator of
the former A/E/C SYSTEMS International conference and exposition. Along with
former A/E/C SYSTEMS Vice-President Richard Vendola and Bentley Systems former
Director of Global Marketing Services, Chris Gibson, they have formed a new
event management company to run Ecobuild America to fill the void that currently
exists in green building, sustainable design and construction technology. For
