wine auction on May 21st at the Chicago Yacht Club at Monroe Street overlooking
scenic Lake Michigan by Millenium Park starting at 11:00am. This auction
features some exciting private consignments with excellent provenance
highlighted by the John D. Schauermann and Anthony Parillo Jr. collections.
The John D. Schauermann Collection encompasses a wide range of fine wine
including 2000 vintage Bordeaux, highly rated Californian cults from Screaming
Eagle, Harlan, Bryant, Araujo, Colgin, Peter Michael, Togni, Turley, Pahlmeyer
and Pride; classics from Phelps, Caymus and Chateau Montelena; and a substantial
selection of highly rated Australian rarities.
The collection of Anthony
Parillo Jr., carefully sourced over the course of thirty-five years is one of
the most important collections of rare old Bordeaux and Burgundy to be offered
at auction in several years with incredible depth including: Chateau Latour-
1870, 1953, 1955, 1959, and 1961; Chateau Mouton-Rothschild- 1873, 1929 and
1961; Chateau Margaux- 1888, 1917, 1921, 1934, 1943, 1945, 1953 and 1961;
Lafite-Rothschild- 1892, 1929, 1943, 1955, 1959 and 1961 (en magnum); Chateau
Haut-Brion- 1899, 1953, 1955 and 1959; Chateau Cheval Blanc- 1943, 1947, 1955
