Summary: Expectations met
Comment: I had read reviews indicating that it may take a long time to receive the magazine after my order. I must say I received it extremely quick and I've been very impressed with the delivery as well as content of the magazine. Highly recommend!

Summary: Good value
Comment: Smart money is a little short on content volume, but it's worth the money and it's a good value (@$10 for the year). Articles and editors seem balanced and thorough enough for the average or beginner investor. I farm it mostly for reviews, links, and general ideas. The issues are just slightly thicker than a "newsweek" issue, so you do the math - it's not really a months worth of content if you're a quick reader. I keep mine in the throne room.

Summary: good for your personal financial management
Comment: I've been subscribing for 4 or 5 years now. This is a good magazine for learning to better manage finances whether it be retirement or day-to-day. It's not a substitute for a financial advisor, nor do I believe the publisher claims the magazine is intended to be. But Smart Money does provide very useful information in every issue and I never think twice about renewing the subscription.

Summary: Must Already Have Money for Smart Money
Comment: Overall this is a very average financial magazine. I rated it with a two star mainly because many of the articles just did not provide any value to me. That is not to say that others will not find valueable articles. The magazine seems to cater more towards the reader that already has a large sum of money. Unfortunenately, I just do not need articles on why I should chose the BMW6 over the Mercedes S-Class and the Audi A5.

Summary: Wanted something a little more technical
Comment: I felt that smart money was a little too dumbed down. I was looking for a personal finance magazine that strongly backed their suggestions with well thought out, detailed, explanations.

I choose Kiplinger's over SmartMoney after reading both for a year.
